Quality for Less
There is nothing I dislike about this product so far, but what I do like is the ease of use and the different types of testing in this one product. When working on traffic signal devices, they can be a bit delicate to surges and lightning, having the proper wiring will make all the difference between your equipment being saved or destroyed. The test that I performed was a continuity test with CAT6 shielded direct burial cable, the drain wire/ground must not be connected on the equipment side but must be connected on the supply side, as you can see in the picture it will show that my connection is correct and with one side to ground. Love this tester and I love the price, I would recommend this product.

Works great, seems accurate, no problems
I purchased this specifically to test a PoE switch but figured I'd be using it in the future with other PoE devices I have, or just as a cable tester in case mine fails. This arrived in perfect condition and didn't have any issues powering right up once batteries were installed. The cable continuity tester worked fine (with a good cable) and the PoE testing seemed to do the job as well - telling me the switch in question is "non-standard" (which is plenty believable) but accurately identifying the af type of a difference device, as well as power consumption through to an access point. Overall happy with this tester, especially for the cost. Hoping it lasts for a while.

Finally got one that worked!
After two DOA units, I finally got one that worked. Using the NF-488 I took all of the POE PSU's I had lying around (Ubiquiti, TP Link, etc.) and was able to determine exactly what they were, and put labels on them for future reference. POE analysis is the only thing I have used it for so far, but it works and I'm happy! It's a nice addition to my IT kit, especially since it's in a neat little zippered case.

Didn't ID any POE+ 802.3at devices
I'm a Cisco certified technician (CCNP) with 20 years' experience. I tested on multiple Cisco POE+ 802.3at switches of varying vintages, and this unit never identified anything as 802.3at (POE+), instead they were all ID'd as 802.3af (standard POE). This defeats the purpose for which I purchased the device, as I need to be able to reliably test whether various POE+ devices are actually POE+ vs. standard POE or some other non-standard POE. Support inquiry resulted in a confusing response, and there was no further response to my follow-up query. Sadly, I had to return.

Simple to use and accurate
Purchased a few used Cisco switches and needed to verify POE worked, and worked correctly on all the ports. Was able to test all the ports quickly and verify they produced the correct amount of power with this.

Not bad for the price
Tested it out and seems to be very accurate for measuring cable length and all other cable test it does. Used two different toner and both picked up the sound . One was an ideal toner and one a green line. So if you don't get the package with a toner don't fret. For a budget this is great
