Excellent scar treatment

I used this 2 weeks after my Thyroidectomy. I was very happy with the results as you can see in My pictures. Photos are from 1 week, 3 weeks and 6 weeks post procedure. I used the NewGel cream on days I had to work and used the strips when I was home. I would wear them all day and night. I would clean my neck prior to use so the strip would adhere better. I agree that the my do not stick as well after about 2 weeks of use, however I never needed to use anything to help it stick. I cleaned them with dove soap. The are long enough that I got 2 uses out of one strip. I found that if I stretched it a bit when I put it on it stayed on better. I am very happy with the results so far. I started using it once the dermabond came off my incision. Even my Doctor made a comment that my incision was less red and less swollen than he normally sees in his patients. I will continue to use both products over the next few months. My only complaint is that I wish the Gel had SPF in it.*UPDATE*It has been 12 weeks since my procedure. My scar is continuing to fade. I am still using both the gel and the gel strips. However I have noticed that my scar is significantly less red after wearing the strips. If you are deciding the strips vs the gel I would choose the strips. There is a problem with adhesiveness, especially with the warmer weather and sweating. I find that it sticks better if you stretch it a bit while applying. Also I clean the area around the scar with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball to dry the area out before I put it on - and this does help it to stick better. I also will use bandaids on top on it to help keep it on. I just ordered another box this week.

These work incredibly well

I got a pack of these sheets and used them on both a new scar and an old scar. I wash my skin twice a day and pat dry with a clean towel, then apply the sheets. So far the new one is healing way faster than scars usually heal for me, and the old one's even looking a little better after a few weeks. I've tried other scar gels and strips, and none worked quite this fast or well. I'm not excited about the price, but I don't want to use anything else because these work so well.A few tips:- These don't stick to my skin very well. I tried using a bigger size sheet but it still falls off halfway through the night. So I found 3M Micropore tape (paper surgical tape that doesn't pull on skin, and has tiny pores in it to let air through) on the NewGel website, you can also get it on Amazon. I cut the silicone sheets to be a little bit larger than the scar, then I tape them down. It holds really well, I don't have the issue anymore where the sheets fall off.- If you're washing and reusing these, and they're losing stickiness, wash them one more time with a dish soap and then use a hairdryer on really low heat. It seems to make the stickiness come back a little.

Filled in initial scar

My son hit his head at school and needed stitches. The scar was indented when the stitches were removed. I used these day and night, only took off to wash and reapply. They stay on great and have never fallen off him while at school. I do apply medical tape on it at night bc the pillow will tend to pull it off. This is just at 2 1/2 months of use and the scar has almost completely filled in and improves weekly. The hydration and pressure these are amazing. I was so upset when his scar was in the early stages but now it’s so much better. Definitely recommend.

Not the product it use to be!!

This is not what it use to be!! Way thinner, sticky in a yuck way, and comes now with some tape to hold it down longer that left a rash! I do not have sensitive skin!’! Sent it back

Update - changed opinion - these get better with time

At first, I did not like these. They’ve grown on me in the last week of use, because although they tend to fold and stick to the inside, I do think they may be helping to heal my surgical scar. So it bothers me less that I have to periodically push the strip back down.First impression was: “The strip folds and sticks to itself, so that’s not great. I have a new scar from a surgery and $44 is a lot to spend on a product that won’t stay in place. Can’t recommend.”

It really reduces scars.

New gel strips are expensive but reusable. However it is up to you to keep them safe once removed. They are easy to lose because they are clear, but if you have a system, they last a long time, are comfortable, and help to reduce scars. Definitely worth the cost!!

nice texture but doesn't stick very well

I used this for scarring on my chest. I like the soft gel feeling, little cushiony. The issue I had with this product is that it was not very adhesive. Given its texture, it would conform well to my body but the edges were never fully stuck to my skin and over the course of a few hours it would come off.

Reusable, long lasting

These are reusable and seem really high quality so far.
