Cotchear Mini Super Speed Micro SD/SDXC TF USB 2.0 Card Reader Adapter

I received this item for review inside a standard Amazon bubble-wrap envelop. The item is undamaged. I experienced good results with it in an MP3 player in my car. It has an extremely low profile, which was what I wanted. I liked it so much I ordered a second one. That one turned out to be a lemon; no ability to read any of my micro SD cards. I filed for a replacement through Amazon. If I have any difficulty getting a good replacement, I will return and amend this review. For now, I consider that my second one failing is just a fluke and I'm going with a full five.

This thing has been a godsend. I love how small it is and the fact. that it can take a 512 card. It's a little irritating that I may or may not be able to use a one terabyte card, however. 512 also gets the job done for all the media that I have.My need for this started off with my. SSD being too small on my laptop and integrated into the MoBo. As a result, I could not add any storage. But this little thing added 512 gigabytes., albeit I had to purchase the SD card separately, directly to my laptop with a super small footprint. granted, it takes up one usb port. However, that's a small price to pay for so much additional space!If you're thinking about it, just pull the trigger. It really is worth it and lets me carry around so much media without having to blink twice.

I've tested this with a 2TB micro sd card and it reads everything on it, the device gets kinda hot though.

I don't normally leave 1 star reviews and, even less frequently, do I regret not being able to leave a 0 star review but that's where I'm at. When it worked, it was fine. It was slow but it was advertised as USB2.0 so that was perfect for my needs. The problem is that, after a few weeks, this adapter would start showing up as having a problem. Sometimes reseating the SD card helped but usually not. It's not often that something costing $6 is way overpriced but this is it. Unfortunately, I can't return it or even exchange it and Amazon's support of the product is this side of useless. So, pretty much thanks for nothing. I'll probably just throw this back into some other return I have and Amazon can deal with it themselves.

This so little. It almost disappears in the flash drive.I like the fact that is largely unnoticed!

It only sticks out a few millimeters, thus no mechanical forces that would risk mechanical overload and breakage. I wish I could find a USB 3 reader that shallow, but I cannot find any one at Amazon.So for permanently adding memory to a 64 GB cheap laptop, this is the only solution. Except those laptops who have a built-in micro SD card reader.

Disappointing. I think the reader doesn't have good power management. When it's trying to read a card the blue light dims indicating that there isn't enough power going through. Of 4 micro SD cards I have only one actually worked. I bought another branded reader and it proved all 4 cards are good.
