I'm heading overseas and I wanted to record Tommy 2 week trip - without constantly searching for batteries. I've already been trying it out. Great sound. Great price.

I absolutely love this product I recommend this product for anybody that needs to record. Definitely a great product and cheap easy to use.

My mom had terminal cancer and I wrote topics and questions on popsicle sticks for people to talk about when they were with her. I put this next to the questions, etc., and asked people to record their discussions with my mom. This is a great device. User friendly and simple. Just what we needed for the job.

This is a thin device that requires some getting used to for reliable service. First, I have found that the unit always works best from a cold start. The instructions say something about you losing the date if you power off the unit between recordings but I don't care about that. Second, a solid red light is the indicator that it is recording but there is a 5 second delay before it actually records sound. So when I press the RECORD button, I say 5,4,3,2,1 before I record my memo to self. A flashing red light indicates that the recording has paused. I discovered the unit loses its mind when left on for a long time doing nothing. Better to either use it or turn it off. That being said, it does the job for me. I didn't expect a lot from a twenty buck device and once you play with a bit to find out what the side buttons do, you can operate it reliably. I keep it in my shirt pocket recording while I take walks in case I am robbed or otherwise encounter someone. Then I've got an audio recording of the incident. I erase all at the end of the day. If something worth saving happens, I transfer it to my computer with the supplied cable. It allows me to record something and still use my smart phone for something else at the same time. You don't need to be very tech savvy, but if user friendliness is the most important thing in your choice to purchase a product, then this recorder may not be the best product for you. Perhaps an old style micro-cassette recorder would be easier.

I have used two recorders before until they worked perfectly. Mostly I think of things while in bed that I will forget by morning, so keep it by my side. Other good things about these is you can make a grocery list for shopping, and of course record lectures. I love gadgets and computers, but this is the absolutely the worst device I have ever encountered. It is listed as a "simple" device, and from he pictures it seemed to be, with only three buttons. It turns out there are a lot of tiny buttons on each side with names of them on the back in letters so small they are difficult to read.. The user guide is a joke, making it almost impossible to understand how to use this. I charged it all right from the USB port on my computer, but the cable is so so short, it is difficult to keep it on a place where it does not just hang there. The screen did light up and indicated when charged. But that was the last time I could get it to show anything. I turned on the switch, nothing. i hit Mode, still nothing. All this after pressing the Record button on the front Nothing on the screen and nothing after I spoke a few words. It may be defective, but it is far too complicated to use, for example in the dark. The other recorders I had made very easy to do this and to delete them latter.. It is not worth the trouble to send back, so just threw it away. I kept the little metal box it came which will be handy. The only thing that works properly.

I gave this five stars as it works just as i need it to, voice recorder. Very easy to use. playback is decent. i dont think that it would be ideal for music and i wont be using it for such. Small and lightweight.

I bought two different brands and kinds and love this thing. Fairly easy to set up and use. Highly recommend. Very handy and no tapes to change, though I do prefer the older audio tape kind.

No way to download recorded audio as it does not connect with a Mac, tried reformatting, doesn't show up anywhere.
